As of September 1, 2024, temporary measures for the security screening of liquids will be put in place at all airports in EU Member States using Explosive Detection Systems for Cabin Baggage (EDSCB) standard C3 at all airports, with the maximum volume of individual containers for liquids, aerosols and gels limited to a maximum of 100 ml for screened cabin baggage.
Only liquids (aerosols, gels, drinks, toothpastes, perfumes, lotions, creams, cosmetics, etc.) in individual containers of 100 ml or less are allowed in cabin baggage. Containers up to 100 ml do not need to be placed in a resealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of 1 liter. The containers shall be presented separately from cabin baggage at security screening.
The new temporary measures will not affect the possibility of keeping electronic devices in cabin baggage. Electronic devices do not need to be removed from cabin baggage at security screening.
Liquids that are to be used during the trip for medical purposes or special dietary needs are allowed in the cabin baggage, even if they exceed the 100 ml limit.
Liquid baby food is allowed.
Liquid containers larger than 100 ml, even if only partially full, are strictly prohibited in cabin baggage. If the liquids you intend to transport in the cabin baggage fail to meet the above-mentioned requirements you may transport them in the hold baggage. Otherwise, containers with liquids larger than 100 ml will be placed in dedicated containers and cannot be recovered later.
Liquids (LAGs – liquids, aerosols, and gels) include: pastes, lotions, liquid mixtures, contents of pressure vessels and other items of similar consistency.
